This inground pool removal project in the Rockville / Potomac, Maryland area was one of the more technically demanding pool demolitions we’ve completed. The pool had a large footprint set in a very confined backyard, leaving virtually no room to maneuver heavy equipment. During the initial site visit, careful planning was essential to ensure the project could be completed safely, cleanly, and without damage to surrounding structures.

Full Pool Demolition and Removal of Pool Decking & Shell

As part of this full pool removal, all pool decking and the entire pool shell were demolished and hauled away. No partial tear-down—this was a complete removal designed to reclaim usable backyard space and prepare the property for future landscaping.

Strategic Excavation for Confined Residential Pool Removal

Operating heavy machinery in tight residential environments requires experience. In this case, excavation involved working on a slope while breaking reinforced concrete, with the excavator positioned directly over the material being demolished. Situations like this demand precise machine control, planning, and confidence built through years of hands-on pool demolition work.

equipment path. Getting machinery down into the pool required a strategic approach: we carefully removed a section of the pool wall just wide enough to allow access, while leaving the remaining wall upright. This wall served as a temporary retaining structure, supporting the access ramp during demolition. That section also happened to be the deep end of the pool, where accuracy and safety are critical.
