Maryland & Virginia Swimming Pool Demolition & Removal Company

Introduction From Andrew A, the Owner

Who you trust execute the demolition or removal of your swimming pool really does matter. This website is intended to help you in selecting a contractor to perform the removal or demolition of your in-ground or above ground swimming pool. Demolition or removal of swimming pools isn’t an event that the average property owner experiences on the regular! Swimming pool demolition or pool removal isn’t something that you can simply ask your co-workers or friends of what to expect.

It’s all so common for contractors to make a website and do nothing but write about how great they are and how they’re the best. I’ll spare you from all that malarkey.

The biggest concern people have is “what should I expect, how do I know I’m hiring the right contractor”, and “what can this swimming pool removal contractor do for us”. And with that said, I operate with a different mentality, and it begins with educating prospective clients, and I enjoy doing it. I have designed this website to help you have a better understanding of the swimming pool removal / demolition process and what my established company is about. If you’re the type of person who sits down, does research, and reads – then we’re off to a great start!

#1 in Swimming Pool Removal & Pool Demolition in Maryland & Virginia

Swimming Pool Demolition and Removal in VA and Maryland MD

We provide swimming pool removal and swimming pool demolition services throughout the ENTIRE STATE OF MARYLAND & ALL OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA.

I operate my swimming pool demolition company in a way that is very unique to today’s standards. We are a small company and I personally oversee each and every job we perform. In other words – all of our work is OWNER SUPERVISED.

I answer the phone when you make the initial phone call. If you filled out the form requesting a quote to have your pool demolished or removed – it will be I who will be calling you. I’m not a commissioned salesman that makes a sale to you, who you never see again after you sign the contract. I, the sole owner of my company, I am on the job from morning, until the day ends, and often times while I’m home sleeping. Having a working owner on the property helps customers in knowing that there is a greater chance an unexpected problem will be recognized, identified sooner, and handled properly and quickly. I am onsite for nearly the entire duration.

When I started removing swimming pools, I was the only contractor to offer swimming pool demolition and swimming pool removal services as an exclusive service. That’s correct, I was the first contractor to perform swimming pool demolition and removal as an exclusive service in both Maryland and Northern Virginia – that I am proud of! As to which, I have chosen to remain a small, owner-operated, company. I’ve been serving the residential market since the late 1980’s, I started my business while in high school. And something that I have observed with the construction market is that nobody has the eye for detail like an owner himself. I have found that most homeowners typically recognize and appreciate that – it’s the way they prefer to have their projects managed.

Swimming pool removal and demolition can be intimidating for many property owners. It seems that when property owners invest time and energy in discussing their pool removal with me, they get a sense of relieve when they see the pride and the integrity in how I operate my swimming pool removal company.

I have an old school business mentality – it’s very simple – be upfront, be honest, do what you say you’ll do. I’m a firm believer in upfront, honest, transparent communication with all our clients. You will be fully apprised of everything going on.

One of our favorite swimming pool removal projects! An old elaborate swimming pool in Bethesda MD, complete with a full bathhouse and a swim up bar!

I find that our clients appreciate a detailed contract. People want to know what the contract includes they want to know what the contractor is responsible for and what the property owner will be responsible for. My contract is detailed. Everything is spelled out, there are no hidden costs, if for some (rare) reason we would need addition fill soil or topsoil – the contract states how much that would cost. If for some reason, we must export an additional load of rubble – the contract specifies what the additional load will cost.

I love what I do, I am friendly, and I enjoy informing people about our work.

I am quality focused, and my jobs typically entail extra steps that other contractors do not do.

The decision to put a swimming pool to rest is very personal and sometimes a sensitive decision for many of our clients, I refrain from pushy sales tactics.

Why People Remove Their Swimming Pool

Demolish or Renovate? Psychology 101: If you’ve reached the point where you’re even considering exploring the possibility of demolishing your swimming pool; then it’s time. We provide quotes for folks that are conflicted between demolishing or renovating. It’s not uncommon for people to go against their best judgement and take the renovating route… only to call us 2 to 3 years later for us to demolish their pool after they just spent a ton of money on pool renovations! If your mind is at the point where you’re even considering having the pool removed, then there’s your answer.

  • Once the kids go off to college, the pool never gets used again, it sits in the backyard with the pump running for 4 months out of the year with no one using it.
  • All pools sooner or later will need renovation work. In most cases it costs less to demolish a swimming pool than it costs to renovate.
  • Long term, it costs less to demolish a swimming pool than it does to continue to maintain and operate a pool on an annual basis.
  • Many people buy a home with an existing pool they do not want.
  • Often times people are looking to sell their home and want to get rid of that old pool before they put it on the market.

Does any of this sound like YOU? You’re not alone! Thousands of people every year make the decision to get rid of their pool or tennis court. We can make the process quick and painless. We handle everything from the demolition, backfill, and final grade. Removing your swimming pool is our specialty; just sit back and watch your headaches disappear. Outdoor Finishes makes your job a priority and typically finishes the job – start to finish – in 5 working days.

From Frederick, MD to Fairfax, VA, we’ve heard many different reasons why folks want to remove their in-ground swimming pool or tennis court  – lack of use, repairs, remodeling, maintenance, electricity costs, water costs, insurance, liability factors, or just ‘Baby Boomers,” whose children are grown and gone, and no longer have any use for the pool or spa. We work with a lot of people that just bought a home with an existing pool that they have no use for. Many times folks will want to sell their home with an old, worn out pool in the backyard and the realtor will advise them to remove the pool before they list the house on the market.

With today’s costs of remodeling a swimming pool, it will – in most cases – cost less to remove the pool. In the long run, the cost to demolish your pool would be considerably less than continued annual maintenance and repair costs. Our company provides property owners with a detailed, written proposal.
